[Samba] writing to smbfs mount

I have freeBSD and installed smbfs on it.  Could someone explain how I can 
set it up so a user other than root can write to a smbfs mount.  To mount it 
I had to use mount_smbfs, and I think to be able to give people rights you 
have to use either the -O or the -M switch... but the man page doesn't make 
any sense to me as to exactly how I would use those.  Could someone maybe 
explain how to do that or give me an example of them used?  Plz email me
