[Samba] suse 7.2 and xp pro - newbie Q

dear All,

i am new to Samba, but read thru all the documentation i found corresponding and still has problem to configure samba 2.2.7a on suse 7.2. my client is a win xp pro. the server and the client is in two different network. the server is at a server-farm and the client is a DSL attached.
I am able to start smbd and my changes take effect, but nmbd makes me crazy. See the log details above. I found my windows was mis configured (no netbios over tcp/ip enabled and no wins server set - fixed)
i was test via the DIAGNOSIS.txt file and failed at step 8. i am stucked. after that i was setting a fresh copy of config files by wizard as server type: stand alone, wins: server for client use, expose home: yes. till that point nmbd is not starting up.

does any of you have idea?
