[Samba] net join from linux-clients not working

hi guys,

still having problems putting linux-clients into the samba-domain. while
doing net rpc join -S server -U root i get the following messages:

[2003/12/09 20:41:38, 0] passdb/secrets.c:secrets_init(46)
  Failed to open /etc/samba/secrets.tdb
[2003/12/09 20:41:38, 0] utils/net_rpc_join.c:net_rpc_join_newstyle(343)
  error storing domain sid for GWCH
Unable to join domain GWCH.

...could please anybody explain, what its going around this messages??
