domain local groups in NT4 (and mixed mode AD domains) are 
only available to DC's.  So samba would never see these groups.
However, domain local groups are available to domain members
in a native mode AD domain so samba does see these.

I'm not sure you example will work anyways.  What you are 
descibing sounds more like universal groups in AD.
