I think what you saw is people having success hosting large files on the
server (via xfs or LFS ext2). Samba does supporrt this with --with-lfs.
I'm much less certain about mounting shares via smbfs. You should
probably mail Urban directly as he is IIRC the curent smbfs maintainer.
As i said before, although samba and smbfs work together, smbfs is a
distinct product. Well, that's what i understand. If I'm wrong here,
could please somebody give a better explanation, as I am much interested
in making this work also.
