[Samba] problems with smbpasswd

# find / -name smbpasswd
/usr/bin/smbpasswd
/etc/samba/smbpasswd

Looks right to me.  Plus, I have manually specified the path to my
smbpasswd file in my smb.conf.
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd

Any other ideas?
