Subject: [Samba] Configuring Samba

I am running on a Sun Blade 1000 using Solaris 8 and trying to configure Samba.

I am using as a reference "The Unofficial Samba HOWTO" by David Lechnyr.

I got samba 2.2.9 package from SunFreeware CD and used pkgadd to install it.

I created the smb.conf with the quick & dirty parameters he suggested. I then was doing the commands he suggested to make that configuration file work correctly.

When I went to use the smbpasswd command, I got:
ld.so.1: smbpasswd: fatal: libpopt.so.0: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed

The testparm command gives the same result.

When I did a find for libpopt.so.0 from /, it isn't there.

What do I do from here?
