[Samba] Network breaking down after a while

Hy Samba-specialists
On my Suse 8.0 Machine with Samba 2.2.3a I've the following Problem:
When I have a connection to the Server from a Windows Client (NT / 2000)
the connection to the server is breaking after a few minutes.
It is not possible to work with files on the server or to copy large folders.
The message in the log.smbd is:
[2002/09/27 19:57:02, 0] lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
  read_data: read failure for 4. Error = Connection reset by peer
what does this mean and how can I get rid of it?
