[Samba] single Windows 2000 client registry settings?

Hi,

I have a single Windows 2000 computer out of twenty or so which shows
very poor network performance when connecting to Samba server. The
physical network is not problem I have checked and worst case response
times from ping are 3 msec.

Is it possible to alter the Windows 2000 registry settings to improve
the network performance when accessing samba?
