[Samba] Samba 2.2.5 dont read the /etc/samba/passwd file or..

I would like to have the smb passwords uencrypted, but when I edit
/etc/samba/passwd file entries i.e <user>:<password>
It still use the encrypted linux password . I have checked encryption =
no in the smb.conf file, but it play no notice to that.
Any Ideas-
