[Samba] "Not listening for calling name" error message

Well, it sounds like this should work with the hosts allow statement you
have.
I would make sure your network is configured the way you think it is. Look
carefully at route -n and ifconfig.
Then, run tcpdump -n while you run smbclient, and see what ip is actually
hitting your 192.168.124.0 machine.
Also, look for typos.
