  Is smbmount available for Sun Solaris. If not the what equivalent is
available

Smbfs is a specific kernel extension to linux only. You cannot set
"--with-smbmount" as a configure option on non-linux systems.
Alternative:
Sharity, www.obdev.at - but it's payware.
