[Samba] samba server does not appear in network neighborhood

Yes ports are open on Linux , because Win98 and WinNT are working.
tcpdumping on the linux box i cannot see any packets going to port 137-139
from the XP machine. The XP machine is only sending packtes to 224.1.0.22
(srvloc.mcast.net -> wht the hell M$ is doing there ?)
The portsd XP/Linux are HUB'ed not SWITCHED, so i can see all packets
between XP and Linux.
