[Samba] nmbd not starting

Fortunately I found the log. Here it is:

I entered an interfaces=eth0 statement in the global section of smb.conf and restarted both daemons (smbd and nmbd), but this did not help.  Testparm reflects this change and one other to the log file name format. Curiously, the old log file name still captures the updates.
