I'm not tried the 1.2.6 package.  But in the 1.2.4 package...

  $ strings libkrb5.so | grep krb5_sname_to_principal
  krb5_sname_to_principal

What krb5 libraries are being linked?  You might want to try
3.0alpha21 since it includes configure options to specify the location
of the kerberos libraries.
