Hi Andrew try write mesages to this list not atachments...

And about yuor disagree... I mean that cumulate more function to one
software is bad idea (asap windows).
Ldap server is apl that have good background to automatic create backup
connection and more more then i mean best way is create ldap or ldap proxy
on localhost of all samba server and inform samba only to connect local.
This local ldap server must have algorithm to be master slave or proxy only
and connect automaticaly to best available master or backup ldap on network
to realise query.

I dont read about ldap project but this is idea...
