[Samba] question on samba/pam

my name is Michael Bulley ...I have a question....
I have a Linux workstation that I want to use the active directory form a windows server.....so that when you get to the login screen were you usually login in as root or another created user I can use login and passwords from the active directory of the sever(windows machine)
What should I use to do this? and is there any doctumentation or walk throughs on it?
