I'm running Mac OS X Server 10.2.1, with the built-in Samba stuff
turned off, and a separate install of 2.2.6 in /usr/local/samba. I have
Samba configured as a PDC (which is why I can't use the built-in
version) for the domain "TAMU_FOOD".

Under MOSXS 10.1.x, I was running 2.2.5 the same way, and everything
worked perfectly. I didn't change the smb.conf file at all.

Now, I can't even pull a browse list from any Windows client. The smbd
log has repeated errors that end in "PANIC: failed to set gid" (see the
full text of the log entry below). I assume these errors are happening
whenever a client requests a browse list, but I'm not certain. I
checked the web for that sort of error, and per other instructions
created an "smbnull" user & group (both #205) and set "guest account =
smbnull" in smb.conf. But I still get the errors.

Any ideas?
