[Samba] samba configuration

Dear Sir 
          Samba came with Linux 7.3. I installed and configured samba according to Linux 7.3 customization
guide. Also I restarted smb. I have a small LAN in my home which is connected to router and DSL line.
Problem is that I can not communicate with windows XP from Linux or vice versa.

          If you can please advice me what should I do next.  I will appreciate you help.
