[Samba] installation problem

Hi,
I am a newer to Samba. I am installing Samba 2.2.3a on FreeBSD 4.5 by
following the installing procedure described in SAMBA Project Documentation.
I have finished Step 1 and Step 2. Now I come to Step 3 to create the smb
configuration file. I put smb.conf in the /usr/local/samba/lib directory and
perform following command in the/usr/local/samba/lib directory :

 # testparm smb.conf

I got response:  command not found

Can anyone help me.
