Dear folks
I am using samba ver. 2.2.0 on a SUSE Linux 7.3. All the PCs have Windows
95 and 98. There is no NT server or workstation.
Therefore, there is no domain in my network. I have configured 'access'
using plain text password for every computer.
I have made all the tests described in the diagnosis.txt file but, even when
I got true responses on every test, I could not increase speed access.
If I try to connect via ftp, everything goes fine.
My network has UTP connections to a speed of 10Mbps and all cards are NE2000
compatible. No other stuff, no switch, no router, no bridge..
When I start transferring files from (or to) the client PC to the server,
while doing it *extremely* slowly, it suddenly stops, saying: "the current
resource network has been lost" or something like that.
I have checked all the options and tried from many pcs, unsuccessfully.
I appreciate your comments on this
Wilman
