What are your socket options in smb.conf?
I had a couple of options specified when I first installed Samba and I had
exactly the same problem as yourself. I changed it to as shown below which
cured the problem.
socketoptions = TCP_NODELAY

We area having the following problem. We have installed samba as a file
server and everything seems to be ok. I can see the linux computer from a
Windows98 PC. I also can open the share folders. Exactly the problem is that
when I try to copy files the computer says "Impossible to create or replacer
[filename] the network resourse are not available anymore"
The user exists on linux and on samba
