The one caveat with Win2000 in Native Mode that we have found is that you
can only refer to Global Groups using winbindd - all the other sub-groupings
which 2000 proffers will be ignored (Samba=NT4 of course).

I've got it running here. I didn't have any success until I joined the
windows 2000 domain and set the security=domain in my smb.conf. I
didn't have any luck with security=server which used to work before,
which must have been affected by the switch to native mode. But now it
works great with no problems for like 20+ days straight.

Subject: [Samba] Samba 2.2.3a and Windows 2000 Native Mode
Hi,
I have been reading through the SAMBA news groups and have seen a couple
of documents that said that it may be possible for Samba 2.2.3a with
Winbind to run in Windows 2000 native mode.
Could anyone tell me if this is true or not and if so what would need to
be
done to do it. My servers are currently running HP-UX 11.00.
Thanks
