[Samba] Samba over a routed network?

I guess your current name resolution must be using broadcasts. Broadcasts
don't pass over subnet boundries which is where your problem lies.

What you need to do is configure Samba to also be a WINS server. Windows
hachines should have the WINS server specified directly or if you use DHCP
you can specify in the DHCP server configuration.
