I have the same enviroment more less, I write you down how I'm doing !
joining the domain with the WS as root (all of them one by one, yes you
have to go there, or tell them the root passwd :)) )
Logon az Domain User
I put this domain user into the local Admin group ( it will prompt for a
local admin password at this time)
And then the user is really a user in the domain but an Administrator on
his own machine !
Best Regards !

i am haveing trouble with a samba pdc version 2.2.2 and windows 2k clients.
the problem is, that after joining the domain (maschine account is working)
i am able to login to the w2k client with a domain user, but i am not able
to make/use a (local)profile.
when i add the domain user as a local admin, it works. but that would mean,
that i have to go to every w2k pc and add all the user as local admin - not
possible (not to think of the other issues). when the user is not a local
admin, than he can not use any programm that writes to the profile (i.e. ms
office), he can not adjust the internet explorer (i.e. add the
proxysettings). its even not possible for the local administrator to delete
the created profile-files for that user, not even read. only the user when
he gets admin is able to delete them.
why? what to do? where to get help?
