[Samba] samba and XP

have the following problem:
will use the samba resources with a WINXP Workstation.
the samba server works only as Fileserver in share mode.
when i will take files or datas from xp to linux then comes
in a short time the following system messige:
" the pathname is to long".
can you help me by this problem?
my samba version is 2.2.3
of suse linux 7.3
