[Samba] Samba Create Mode Problem

I'm trying to force a create mode of 774 on files that are created
similar for directories however in samba 2.2.3a it doesn't seem to do
it.  Any one else had this problem?

[redhat]
   comment = RedHat LiNuX ISO Images
   path = /music
   public = no
   writable = yes
   create mask = 0774
   directory mask = 0774
   force group = music

This is what I get on the files and directory

drwxr-sr-x    2 jbennett music        4096 Mar 15 16:11 .
drwxrwsr-x  605 root     music       16384 Mar 15 16:10 ..
-rwxr--r--    1 jbennett music           0 Mar 15 16:11 New Text
