[Samba] WinXP. Ugh.

XP shows the comment of the server followed by name of server in brackets.

Change the comment in your smb.conf if you dont want it to show Samba 
2.0.7 first.

Upgrade to 2.2.2 or 2.2.3a

Many XP related things have been fixed in these two releases.
