[Samba] smbd exits without any messages or action

Hello all

1.  Built package with ./configure-developer script,
make, make install...
2.  configured sample smbd.conf and ran testparm on
it.  No problems
3.  ran smbd, its exits without any messages.  Set a
breakpoint with gdb in main(), it never gets hit.

any idea
