[Samba] Profile Problem

Hi,

I have a SuSE Linux 8.0 server running Samba 2.2.5 as a PDC for 
Windows 2000 clients with Service Pack 2.

Every time a user logs on to the domain, a local copy of the user 
profile is created in C:\Documents and Settings\ as

USERNAME.DOMAIN.000
USERNAME.DOMAIN.001
USERNAME.DOMAIN.002

although deletion of local profiles has been enabled via the group 
policy editor.

The interesting thing is that this problem does not occur on a 
machine we have set up with Service Pack 1 in order to debug this.
I am not quite sure if this is a Samba problem or if it is related 
to Service Pack 2. I suspect the latter, though.
Has anybody come across this problem?
