[Samba] linux - win me

i want to connect a windows me machine with my red hat linux system.

i've configured smb.conf, and i can see the linux system in network neighbourhood. but i cannot access it.

when i double click on the (linux system's) icon, i get a message saying "cannot find Lincomp" (the name of the linux machine).

the user on the windows system exits in smbpasswd and is a valid account on linux. (it is a password-less login)

suggestions?
