[Samba] Importing CGM files into Powerpoint

We are having problems importing CGM files into Powerpoint through Samba.  The problem only occurs if:

1) The client is Windows 2000
2) The filename before the .cgm extension is longer than 8 characters

So if the client is Windows NT, the user can import CGM files regardless of the lenth of the filename.

We are using Samba 2.2.2 running under Solaris 8 with Damain authentication.
