[Samba] spools: Probem with W2k/DJ1120/Word97-2000

Hello,

I (still) have some problems with a printer-driver
managed by the spools-system of samba.

In short: When I try to open the printer-properties
of a Deskjet 1120C in MS-Work 97 the error
"Word can not show the properties-dialog,
because there was an error during the printing"
(translated from the german message)
in MS-Word 2000 the properties-dialog shows
up, but although I did set the default paper
size to A4 in the server printer-dialog,
it is always set to "letter" in Word 2000.

step-by-step:
(1) cvs update from 17.7.2002, around 1 am CET
(2) not special configure options, just a path adjustment
to /usr/local instead of /usr/local/samba. Linux-System,
Kernel 2.4.16, lprng 3.8.10
(3) install
(4) logged in as "root" on a W2Ksp2-pro client (german
edition), root is a domain user, client is connected
to the domain controlled by the Samba-server
which is also the print-server.
(5) opened the printer wizard on the server. 
- "no driver" - message for the dj1120 printer
- answered "no"
- "new driver"-botton in dialog
- browsed to c:/winnt/inf
- selected the HP DJ 1120C-Driver (so its
the Windows2K default-driver not the one
form the HP-site, which can not be installed
because of one file that can not be uploaded)
- parsed again to the inf-directory when
asked for the W2K-Server CD
- driver-files got uploaded to the server
- drivername apears in the printer-listing on the server
(6) logged in as non-root ("normal" user: not in domain admins,
and not in printer admins)
(7) opened the clients printer control, installed printer on the client
by browsing to the Samba-Server
(8) opened MS-Word 97, File->Print, selected the DJ1120 
queue (swwtintea3) and the error mentioned above apeared
(9) there are no problems (so far) with other applications
even the paper-size is set correctly

but I sometimes see log-messages like:

(10) logged into another client with MS-Word 2000 installed (also W2kproSP2),
connection to printer is done by the login-script on this
box (jscript-function)
(11) started Word 2000, opened printer properties/extended
for the DJ1120C -> Tab: Device-Settings, Paper-Size is
set to "letter" but should be A4

since every other printer works as expected including
driver settings (and even duplex-setting), it might
be an error in the driver but I don't have a NT-Server to
verify this. 

Any ideas how to solve this?
