Vicky,

Remark out the "hosts allow" entry, restart samba

see if it changes anything.

You said in an earlier post that you're using
171.17.1.x, 171.17.2.x, and 171.17.3.x, and
the "hosts allow=" line isn't set for that (as it is now).
