[Samba] win2k client slow with samba 2.2.3.a - maybe a bug?

Until someone who knows the answer responds:
I would suggest you browse the samba.org letter archives. This sort of
question has occurred before. It was discussed in June, as a matter of
fact.  Solutions mentioned (although nobody actually said they used them
and get better) included upgrading the NIC's and socket options. It could
be either the client or server.  Anyway, root around in the June archives.
