[Samba] Windows 95

Well, obviously there are a lot of variables here.
Being an amateur, here is what I would do.
I would rework my smb.conf on the new server, making it as simple as
possible.

Below is what I use on my home network. This is a linux server for a
mixed network (small!) of windows98 machines and xp home and pro. If it
works with one of your problem windows clients, I would then just add,
one by one, all the additional parameters I am sure you need in a work
environment, and sooner or later you will hit the problem. Notice I don't
use passwords. You may have problems with password encryption with those
win95 clients, some of whom don't use encrypted passwords, maybe.

[global]
        name resolve order = lmhosts wins bcast host
        netbios name = JHAMMER6
        server string = Samba %v Your Server
        security = SHARE
        log level = 3
        os level = 100
        preferred master = True
        domain master = True
        wins support = Yes
        guest account = ftp
        guest ok = Yes
        veto files = /*.{*}/
        hosts allow = 127.  192.168.
        time server = yes

[jlh]
	comment = Home
	path = /mnt/hda4/jlh
	read only = yes

I am using Samba Version 2.2.1a
