*smbuseradd* on SuSE Linux v7.3 Professional

Howdy All:

I¹m having problems with smbadduser on SuSE Linux v7.3 Professional.  When I
attempt to execute the command, the result is:



No such map passwd.byname. Reason: Request arguments bad
ERROR: todd Not in passwd database SKIPPING...

Anyone have a workaround or suggestions I might try?  This is a pretty
plain-jane/virgin install.  Any suggestions would be welcome.  Please reply
