patch ? for W2K service pack2

I am having trouble adding machines now.  Once I unistalled W2K and then 
reinstalled w/out service pack 2.  I have not found a patch for this 
yet.  Does it exist if so where?  I have 2.2.1a and an unstable server I am 
trying to move off of.  A patch is preferable since the previous admin 
believed in security through obscurity.  I also have more links than 
directories. (sorry for the venting) I have come to view compiling on this 
machine as mildly dangerous.
