-L is an ugly hack to allow for 'root mode' functionality without being
root.  I now develop samba almost entirly in 'non-root-mode' - becouse I
can then gdb etc without messing with root.  (smbd is lauched from
identd in this case).  Its also used to power the 'build farm'.
