winbind in Samba domain?

Dear Friends,

I am going to add one more Samba server to my existing samba domain.

The new samba server will act as File Server. So can I use Winbind in my second samba server

for centralized authentication ? or it is only available when Domain Controller is W2K or WinNT?

If there is any better/easier way to do that then plase let me know.
