Bash error when login as DOMAIN+username using winbindd

I have now managed to get  winbind working fine without any problems. I am
using 'winbind separator = + in a RH7.1
computer, but I am getting this error when a user logs into the server:

[: too many arguments

Ive checked the pam files, and commented eachline out untill I cannot 
login, and also tried to alter the .bashrc and .bash_profile
files, but its not helping.

If I login as a local user then its fine.

Has anyone come across this before?

Ive also tried altering the + to a \ and its still the same.
