#Try setting 'password server = QUASAR' in your smb.conf file.
#I'd be interested in seeing the output of debug level = 10 for running
#winbindd when it can't find the pdc when the bdc is down.

I´ve had the same Problem as Avery when i was setting up by Winbind
machines. I tried a lot of debugging but there was no way (nothing that i
know :-))to manage that winbindd will ask the PDC instead of the BDC except
to switch off the BDC.
The only thing/answer i found are some datapackages wher i could see that
the BDC is answering faster than the PDC to the authentication "question" of
winbindd. If you switch off the BDC winbind will directly get an answer from
the PDC...no problem to have winbindd in networks without M$-BDC. :-)

im in the lucky position to be able to work without any BDC so i´v switched
it off. one M$ pc less...:-)))

if you need debugging please let me know, i´ll setup a BDC if necessary.

regards
Stephan
