Winbind, PDC not found with BDC

Quasar is on a different subnet than the BDC (gadus), but is on the same 
subnet as the Samba server. I would think that winbind would pick either 
the PDC or the BDC for authentication, but it doesn't. It finds them both 
through the WINS service running on the PDC, but will only work if the BDC 
is online. If I take the BDC offline, I get no winbind...

I also have th WINS service running on the BDC since that link gets severed 
often. Maybe it is causing a problem? Replication partners are both ways on 
each box.
