The LIBS line at the top of the Makefile read:

LIBS=-lsec -lgen -lresolv -lsocket -lnsl  -ldl

Is there somewhere else that I need to add -lsocket?

This is becouse the nss_winbind stuff isn't being linked with -lsocket.  

If somebody wants to come up with the right makefile magic (for HEAD)
I'll commit it.
