Have never seen this.  Dunno..

It is easier to download the drivers from the vendor and
tell windows that you "Have disk..."

Ah....2.0 and 2.2 are so very different wrt to printing :-)
YOu did read the printing chapter in the Samba-HWOTO-Collection
