[Samba] Error running copy through samba

Thank you in advance for your time ...

running samba on hpux 11.0 machine map network drive to a pc ok.  When
we tried to copy files (larger then 31KB) to itself we are getting the 
following error message.

Cannot copy params: The path is too deep.

Small files copied ok.  The file type does not seem to matter but the size.  
Do we need to modify any settings for time/size parameters in our smb.conf 
file??
