[Samba] Help

When using the command smbpasswd -j <domain> -r <pdc> -U <admin account>

I get this response:
cli_net_auth2: Error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
cli_nt_setup_creds: auth2 challenge failed
modify_trust_password: unable to setup the PDC credentials to machine
PDC. Error was : NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED.
2002/08/28 09:36:11 : change_trust_account_password: Failed to change
password for domain DOMAIN.
Unable to join domain DOMAIN.

This is version 2.2 on a clark connect/redhat linux based system. 
I have the same versions running on 3 other systems 2 debian and 1
mandrake. All the other boxes work fine, with similar samba.conf files
minus the names. 
Does anyone have a possible explanation or have experienced this problem
before.
