[Samba] winbindd not creating local pipe file

This is Samba 2.2.5 on FreeBSD. There is no pipe file under /tmp/.winbindd/,
so wbinfo thinks that winbindd is not running. "Winbindd -d 10" gives the
following in the log file:

[2002/08/27 03:15:12, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:init_domain_list(144)
Retrying startup domain sid fetch for LEGIONPDC.COM
[2002/08/27 03:15:12, 10] nsswitch/winbindd_cm.c:cm_get_dc_name(123)
returning negative get_dc_name_cache entry for LEGIONPDC.COM
[2002/08/27 03:15:12, 3] nsswitch/winbindd_cm.c:get_connection_from_cache(436)
Could not open a connection to LEGIONPDC.COM for \PIPE\lsarpc
(NT_STATUS_DOMAIN_CONTROLLER_NOT_FOUND)

I think it is something I am doing wrong that causes this, but could not
figure it out. Can somebody point me to what I should look for?

Chere
