check permissions on the drivers folder; admin must have write access
put the admin in a write list directive on the shared drivers folder

Everything work fine if I connect with root credential. However it does not work if I connect with the credential of
the printer admin user which is the credential I would like to use.

No matter what I try I was unable to upload the drivers to my sambamachine from the property sheet. I don't get any error as I don't evenget the chance to press 'New Driver'. I followed theSamba-HOWTO-Collection.html to the letter (or so I beleive). Buteverytime I get the the "Advance Tab", the "New Driver button is greyedout. However I can modify everything else on the property sheet. My clients are Windows XP and my server is FreeBSD 4.5
This was commonly caused for me when you're not logged into the system asroot or a printer admin.Add a line saying 'printer admin = serge' (or whomever you might be) to thegeneral smb.conf and try again.Craig
