will try this. will the server still register itself with a WINS server
if a line:
wins server = w.x.y.z
is in the smb.conf
also will clients still be able to map a drive to \\server\share assuming
they can resolver the name "server" via WINS?
any other nitoceable changes when killing nmbd. could do with some docs on
exactly what nmbd does.
